Questions to Ask

If you answer NO more often than YES, it’s probably time to consider changing your block management company

  1. Does your managing agent have a local representative and office?
  2. Does your managing agent respond to queries promptly?
  3. Does your managing agent carry out regular site inspections?
  4. Does your managing agent organise repairs in a timely and cost effective manner?
  5. Does your managing agent provide a service tailored to your needs?
  6. Are your Service Charge Budgets realistic?
  7. Do you know what you are paying for?
  8. Does your managing agent liaise with the directors of the management committee when formulating the budget?
  9. Does your managing agent attend annual general meetings or extra ordinary general meetings?
  10. Does your managing agent pay contractors/utility companies on time?
  11. Are you sure your managing agent is not habitually adding 'their fee' to contractors invoices?
  12. Do you and your fellow leaseholders receive the annual accounts on time?

NB If your present block managing agent is a national company with no local presence, or a non-specialist manager, you’re probably paying a lot more than you would with us.
